Terms of Use

The terms that govern your use of NSE Historical Data: what you may do with the tool and the exported data, and the limits of what is promised.

Last updated: 2 August 2026

By using NSE Historical Data(the “Site”) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Site. The Site is operated by Dhruv Bhartiya as an individual and is provided free of charge.

1. What the Site is

The Site is a utility that retrieves publicly available end-of-day historical stock data from the National Stock Exchange of India and formats it as a spreadsheet for download. It is a convenience layer over a public data source. It is not a broker, not an exchange, not a data vendor, and not a financial adviser.

2. Nothing here is financial advice

Nothing on the Site — including the exported data, the guides, and any commentary — is investment, financial, legal, or tax advice, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security. Trading and investing carry the risk of loss. Decisions you make are yours alone. See the full disclaimer.

3. No warranty on accuracy or availability

The Site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. In particular, there is no guarantee that:

  • the data returned is accurate, complete, current, or unaltered;
  • the data matches what NSE or any other source publishes, or that it has been adjusted for corporate actions — it has not;
  • the Site will be available, uninterrupted, or free of errors;
  • the upstream source will continue to be reachable, or will keep returning data in the same shape.

The Site depends on a third-party source outside the operator’s control. If that source changes, rate-limits, or goes down, the Site will stop returning data, potentially without notice.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • automate, script, or otherwise generate requests at a volume that degrades the Site or places unreasonable load on the upstream data source;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its infrastructure, or any connected system;
  • use the Site in a way that breaches any applicable law or regulation, including securities and market-conduct regulation in your jurisdiction;
  • interfere with the Site’s operation, including its advertising, in a way that harms its ability to keep running;
  • resell access to the Site, or present it as your own product or service.

The Site is intended for reasonable, individual, manual use — research, study, analysis, and record-keeping. Access may be restricted where use appears abusive.

5. The data itself

Market data originates from the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. Rights in that underlying data belong to NSE and/or its licensors, and this Site claims no ownership of it. Your use of the exported data is your responsibility, including any obligation to comply with the originating exchange’s terms if you intend to redistribute it, use it commercially, or build a product on top of it. If your intended use goes beyond personal research, check the source’s terms first.

The Site’s own material — its design, written guides, and code — is the property of its author.

6. Trademarks and affiliation

“NSE”, “National Stock Exchange of India”, “NIFTY”, and related marks are the property of the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. This Site is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or approved by NSE or any other exchange, regulator, or index provider. Those names are used only to describe the source of the data.

7. Advertising

The Site carries third-party advertising, which is what keeps it free. Advertisements are selected by ad networks, not by the operator, and their appearance here is not an endorsement of the advertiser, its products, or its claims. Dealings with advertisers are strictly between you and them. Data handling relating to advertising is described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any loss or damage — including trading losses, lost profits, lost data, or indirect or consequential loss — arising from use of, or inability to use, the Site or anything obtained from it. This holds whether the loss stems from inaccurate data, unavailability, delay, or any other cause. If a limitation of this kind is unenforceable where you live, liability is limited to the minimum permitted by that law.

9. Changes

The Site may change, and these terms may change with it. Features may be modified or withdrawn at any time without notice. The revision date at the top of this page marks the latest substantive change; continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections available to you locally.

11. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to dhruvbhartiya2420@gmail.com.
