Privacy Policy

How NSE Historical Data handles the information you provide, what third-party services are involved, and the advertising cookies used on this site.

Last updated: 2 August 2026

This policy explains what happens to information when you use NSE Historical Data(the “Site”). The Site is an independent tool that lets you export publicly available historical stock data from the National Stock Exchange of India into a spreadsheet. It is operated by Dhruv Bhartiya as an individual, not a company.

The short version

There are no user accounts. You are not asked to register, and you are not asked for your name, address, or phone number. The stock symbol and date range you type are used to fetch data and build your file, and are not stored afterwards. The file itself is generated in memory and sent straight back to your browser — it is never written to a server or to cloud storage. The Site does display advertising, and advertising involves cookies; that is described in detail below.

Information you submit

The only information you actively give the Site is what you type into the download console:

  • A stock symbol or company name, including the partial text typed into the search box, which is sent to the server to power autocomplete suggestions.
  • A start date and end date defining the range you want.

These values are used for one purpose: to request the matching records and assemble your spreadsheet. They are not linked to you, not used to build a profile, and not retained in a database. They may appear transiently in standard server logs (described below) as part of the request.

Information collected automatically

Hosting and server logs

The Site is hosted on Vercel. Like effectively every web host, Vercel records technical request data — IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp, and response status — for security, abuse prevention, and debugging. This is standard infrastructure logging and is retained according to Vercel’s own retention schedule.

Analytics

The Site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and understand which pages are used. This product is designed to be privacy-preserving: it does not set analytics cookies, does not use cross-site identifiers, and reports aggregated figures such as page path, referrer, country, browser, and device type rather than identifying individual visitors.

Data relay

Requests for market data are relayed through a small server function hosted on Amazon Web Services in the Mumbai (ap-south-1) region before reaching NSE. This exists purely for technical reasons — NSE restricts traffic from non-Indian data centres — and the relay passes the symbol and date range through without storing them.

Advertising and cookies

This Site is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense. The following disclosures are made in line with Google’s requirements for publishers:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • You can opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info.

Third-party ad networks other than Google may also serve ads here. Where that happens, those vendors may set and read their own cookies; their use of that information is governed by their own privacy policies, and the opt-out link above covers participating vendors.

If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland

Visitors from these regions are shown a consent message before personalised advertising cookies are set, delivered through a consent management platform certified by Google and integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. You can decline personalised advertising, and you can change your choice at any time using the privacy settings link presented in that message. Declining does not restrict your use of the Site — the download tool works identically either way.

What this Site does not do

  • It does not sell personal information.
  • It does not ask for financial details, payment information, or government identifiers. The tool is free and there is nothing to pay for.
  • It does not store the spreadsheets it generates. Once the file reaches your browser, no copy remains.
  • It does not require or offer an account.

Children

The Site is intended for a general adult audience interested in market data and is not directed at children under 13. Personalised advertising is not knowingly targeted at children.

The Site links to external resources, including NSE, related data tools, and the author’s personal site. Following those links takes you outside this Site, and this policy no longer applies — read the privacy policy of whichever site you land on.

Your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use the opt-out links above to turn off personalised advertising, or use the Site with an ad blocker. None of these will stop the download tool from working. If you would like to ask what information relates to you, or request its deletion, write to the address below — bearing in mind that because the Site holds no accounts and no user database, there is usually nothing stored to retrieve or delete.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the Site changes or as advertising requirements evolve. The revision date at the top of this page reflects the most recent substantive change. Continued use of the Site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
